Jeremy Lin has been the focus of so much attention from both his fans and his doubters. That hasn’t stopped him from devoting time to launching a new charitable foundation and reaching out to those in need.
In his continuing series, 1-1,CSN Houston‘s Howard Chen talk to Lin about charity work and Chandler Parsons.
The Jeremy Lin Foundation launched with a big kick off party All Star weekend.
The point guard raised $150,000 and distributed to three local charities.
“For me, I know for a fact if I didn’t have certain people in my life telling me what to to, what not to do, if I didn’t have positive role models in my life, who knows where I’d be or what I’d be doing right now, said Lin. “It’s a big part of why I’m able to be in the NBA today. It’s because of people that are around me. And so, I want to hopefully be able to do that and serve and love these kids and to be able to just share God’s love with them and I think if the Foundation, if we can make a little bit of change in a couple of kids’ lives, I think it’ll be well worth it.”
