Washington Times: Civil Rights Groups Alleges Asians, Blacks Singled Out in Arizona Abortion Law

CATEGORIES

ACLUA lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union charges Arizona’s law banning abortions based on the race and sex unfairly singles out Asian and African Americans, reports the Washington Times.

The law is based on the notion that babies are aborted solely because of their race and sex.  Abortion providers are required to get a sign affidavit from the patient saying the abortion does not violate the law.

The ACLU says the law “stigmatizes their decision — and no other women’s decision — to seek abortion care,”

The Arizona Attorney General who was named in the lawsuit had no comment.

You can read reaction to the lawsuit in the Washington Times.
