Jackie Chan is backing off from earlier statements that he’s retiring from action films, reports U-T San Diego.
The star says at 59 he’s too old to be doing his own stunts, but says he won’t stop doing action movies.
“I am not young anymore … and I don’t want to break my ankle or my arm again,” he said
Chan had earlier indicated that his December 2012 release of Chinese Zodiac 2012 would be his last action picture.
“I am not a superhero,” Chan said. “I really want to be like an Asian Robert De Niro who can do all kinds of things — comedy, drama, heavy roles.
Movies on the horizon for the martial artist include New Police Story 2013 and Skiptrace, an action comedy.
