CATEGORIES

lightningLightning struck and killed a Filipino American teen in Chicago just days before her high school graduation, reports GMA

17-year old Jennie Dizon was set to study theater production at the University of Cincinnati.

Reports said she was just sitting on a park bench writing in her notebook when the accident happened.

The odds of being hit by lightning are one in 700,000, but only one in 3000 over a lifetime, according to National Geographic statistics quoted by GMA.

Dizon attended the Benet Academy.

“Through a combination of tears and laughter, we have also shared with one another our recollections of many memorable experiences with Jennie. Most importantly, as people of faith, we have celebrated her entrance into eternal life,” they added.
