Police in Oklahoma City are investigating a possible hate crime against a Vietnamese American family after their cars were set on fire and racial epithets were found scrawled on the vehicles, reports The Oklahoman.
Three people were inside the home at 2 a.m. watching a movie when they heard the loud crackle of fire coming from their cars.
“We’ve never had any problems, break-ins or anything,” said homeowner Ha Hoang.
Police and fire along with the FBI are all investigating.
“We first have to determine if this meets the criteria for a hate crime, but on its face as it appears as it does meet those qualifications,” said Oklahoma City police Capt. Dexter Nelson.
