Now that Dwight Howard has publicly committed to signing with the Houston Rockets, predictions about what the Rockets will do with Jeremy Lin run the gamut.
A blog by Marshall Zweig in the Bleacher Report declares that Lin’s future with the Rockets is certain–he has no future. Zweig points out that Lin was absent from the massive full court press the team used to recruit Howard. Every key player from the Rockets met or reached out to Howard except Lin.
Secondly Lin hasn’t tweeted anything on his Twitter account since July 1st. While his teammates have expressed excitement and welcomed Howard to the team, Lin at least publicly has been silent.
Ken Berger from CBS Sports was a little more cautious “Though they won’t rule out post-Howard trades, the Rockets are now open to keeping Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin, league source says.”
According to the Real GM, the Rockets have no plans to trade Lin or Asik.
