Rep Grace Meng (D-New York) is protesting the recent endorsement by the Association of Asian American Studies of a boycott of Israel, reports Algemeiner.

Meng in a letter to the group called the boycott known as the “Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions” campaign counterproductive, including its demand for the Arab “right of return.”

“It is very well known that neither Israel nor a ‘two-state solution’ could exist with a ‘right of return,’” she wrote.

The Jewish American community has been especially critical of the support of the boycott by AAAS, and so far, at least publicly, AAAS has not responded to the criticism.

AAAS voted to endorse the boycott at its recent national conference back in April.

“The characterization of Israeli actions as ‘racist’ is inaccurate, inflammatory, and inconsistent with the views of the vast majority of Americans and Asian-Americans. It does not serve the cause of peace; rather, it serves to galvanize those who oppose peace.”

So far there’s been no response to Rep Meng’s letter from AAAS.
