Volunteers with the MinKwon Youth Empowerment Center went door to door on Long Island to win support for immigration reform.
The Long Island News reports the students asks for pledges from residents to send in postcards and to call their congressional representatives to support immigration reform.
“I think it was a very successful day. Most people that we talked to were in support of comprehensive reform and were receptive to our message,” said David Chung, MinKwon Center’s Youth Organizer.
Some 150 households were visited by the high school volunteers.
