Asian Fortune: Asian Dreamers Launch Cross Country Campaign for #Immigration Reform

CATEGORIES

Dream ridersThey call themselves Dream Riders. They are a group of undocumented Asians living productive lives in the United States who dream of citizenship for themselves and their families.

Asian Fortune reports the Dream Riders have embarked on a two week trek from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles to campaign for comprehensive immigration reform.

Before leaving, the riders met with Education Secretary Arne Duncan(pictured left).

“I was recently approved for DACA, but I know that it is a temporary solution to my situation and the plight of millions more, including my family,” said Simon Jun, 18, who spoke about being undocumented for the first time.

The riders have the support of Rep Judy Chu & Mike Honda (D-CA)

“This is a human issue – one with countless stories of trials and tribulations – and in our fight for comprehensive immigration reform, we must ensure fair and humane treatment of all human beings, regardless of country of origin and immigration status,” Honda said.
