A new poll just released reveals that Asian Americans and Latinos in California overwhelmingly support strong action against climate change, reports the Inquirer.
The poll by the Public Policy Institute found 78 percent of Latinos and 74 percent of Asian Americans endorse California acting immediately to stem climate change rather than waiting for the economy and job market to improve.
That’s much greater than the 65 percent of the general population in the state who feel the same way.
“People of color (Latino’s and Asians and Pacific Islander’s), the emerging large people of the state do care about the impact of the environment on their families– they want common sense policies,” according to Miya Yoshitani, Associate Director of Asian Pacific Environment Network.
