Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Beauty pageants are a big business. There are over 100,000 pageants each year in the United States involving 2.5 million girls.

Entering one will cost you plenty.

An article in Asian Fortune broke it down.

Evening gowns can cost $2,000. Coaches to help you through the interview process and fitness trainers can charge as much as $1,000.

Entry fees are as much as $1,000 and interview outfits can run you another $200.

Some like the Miss Teenage Philippine Pageant charge no entry fee and provide evening gowns. But they are the exception.

Many pageants offer scholarships, but others just award cash prizes to the winners.

It’s made such a big impact on my life,” she said. “You have to learn to portray yourself in a positive light, you have to deal with different people, and it’s made me a more confident, stronger individual.” Current Miss Vietnam DC Catherine Ho says.

Asian Fortune suggests before entering any pageant, check it out first with the Better Business Bureau.
