Sacramento Bee: California State Assembly Apologizes for Firing of Japanese American During WWII

Minidoka Incarceration CampThe California State Assembly today passed a resolution formally apologizing to 300 Japanese American State workers who were fired during World War II, reports the Sacramento Bee.

Each worker received $5,000 in compensation in 1982, but strangely enough, the money did not come with an apology.

The resolution by Democrat Richard Pan passed on a voice vote.
