NBC’s Ann Curry scored a major exclusive interview with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, reports the Huff Post.
Curry beat out CNN’s Christiane Amanpour who announced a week earlier that she would be the first to interview Rouhani.
It was arguably Curry’s biggest story since being removed from the anchor chair on Today.
Rouhani blamed Israel for some of the injustices in the Middle East, but also struck a moderate tone.
“What is important for us is that the countries of the region and the people grow closer to each other, and that they are able to prevent aggression and injustice.”
