Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starring an ensemble cast which includes actress Ming Na Wen debuted to very impressive ratings among the all important 18-49 demographic, reports The Hollywood Rreporter.
The ABC program attracted nearly 12 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic which is equal to a 4.6 rating. That’s the best premier of any drama on ABC since 2009.
On a related note, it was a bad night for Fox’s Dads. The show described by critics as the most racist on television largely for its portrayal of Asian Americans had a 1.5 rating among adults. That’s a drop of seven-tenths of a point from its premier last week.
Rating declines the week after a premier are not uncommon. Hopefully Dads will continue to decline into oblivion and SHIELD will be able to retain its impressive audience.
RE:Good night of television for Asian Americans: Don’t forget Chloe (Wang) Bennet who is also on S.H.I.E.L.D.
