A new Chinese translation of the Old Testament has been released, reports the Catholic News Agency.
It’s hoped the new translation will help Chinese Catholics more fully participate in the Catholic community.
“If they share the Bible together with the elders, I think it will help everybody,” said Carolyn Ng, director of religious education for the Our Lady of China Pastoral Mission in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.
The bible is seen as spreading the faith in China and representative of “the continued growth and strengthening of the faith among Chinese Americans.”
