The show with a devoted following, but less than stellar ratings has been put on hiatus for most of the rest of the year by NBC.
Aerogram reports that Parks & Recreation has been taken off the schedule, effective immediately.
The show with an ensemble cast that includes Saturday Night Live alum Amy Poehler and Indian American comic Aziz Ansari was yanked from the schedule this week and its Halloween episode will have to air after Halloween.
Parks and Recreation is scheduled to return for a brief period during the November ratings sweep, but will then go back on hiatus November 21.
It seems strange that the network would remove the show from the schedule, but then air a couple of episodes during an important ratings period. Perhaps the brass at the Peacock is hoping absence will make the heart grow fonder and that fans will return in droves for Park & Rec’s brief return.
