An analyst with the National Security Council and the White House has been fired after posting anonymous tweets critical of political leaders and Obama administration policy, reports India West.
“What started out as an intended parody account of D.C. culture developed over time into a series of inappropriate and mean-spirited comments,” Jofi Joseph told Politico. “I bear complete responsibility for this affair and I sincerely apologize to everyone I insulted.”
The Indian American had been scheduled to move to a job in the Pentagon and has worked with such Democratic leaders as Senator Bob Casey and Vice President Joe Biden.
His tweets appeared under the handle @NatSecWonk, but the accounts have been removed. It had been active for two years with some 2,000 tweets.
