San Francisco Chronicle: Rep Honda caught catnapping

Mike HondaNew videos surfacing on You Tube could be a big blow to Rep Mike Honda’s (D-San Jose) re-election campaign.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports several videos of the 7-term Congressman catnapping during meetings have surfaced.

One video shows Honda apparently snoozing behind a speaker on the House floor. Another shows him napping during a Town Hall meeting on health care.

The incumbent’s campaign denies the Representative was napping, but says he likes to close his eyes when thinking.

Honda is arguably one of the most powerful Asian Americans in Washington, but faces a challenge from Silicon Valley entrepreneur Ro Khanna who has a huge advantage in fundraising.

Honda however carries with him all the advantages of incumbency, the endorsements from such heavy weights as President Obama and Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and a huge lead in the polls.

You can read more on the possible impact of these videos in the San Francisco Chronicle.
