A blog post in 8 Asians by Leeland Lee recently questioned the lack of Asian Americans, more specifically East Asian Americans, from the ranks of Silicon Valley management.
According to a recent census report, Asian Americans now make up a majority of the work force in California’s Silicon Valley, a cluster of high tech firms in the area.
Lee wrote that East Asians make up about 1 percent of management and two percent of the board positions.
Must Asian Americans “settle for a life of behind-the-scenes anonymity?” Yee wonders.
