Televisions have been set up in areas of typhoon-ravaged Central Philippines so that many of the victims left homeless will be able to see tonight’s fight between countryman Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios, reports the Courier Mail.
Officials hope that a victory by Pacquiao who is coming off two defeats will serve as inspiration for typhoon survivors.
A screen has been set up at Tacloban Stadium and smaller screens have been placed near a church and in the Leyte provincial capitol.
“His impressive performance will lift the spirit of the people, no matter what,” boxing analyst Ronnie Nathanielz predicted.
