Federal authorities have arrested an Indian American couple in Kentucky on charges of illegally bringing Indian workers into the US and then making them work long hours for little pay, reports the Link.
Amrutlal Patel and his wife, DakshabenPatel run four Subway restaurants in Lexington. One worker accused the couple of denying him food and beating him up. Other workers said they were locked in a room at night, but defense attorneys say the couple was only trying to help other Indian nationals by providing them jobs.
