Asian American feminist blogger Jenn Reappropriate wrote a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Mandela and how he impacted her life.
“I am still inspired by Nelson Mandela and his unwavering commitment to social change. I am still inspired by a man who faced 27 years of imprisonment and emerged unbroken. I am still inspired by a man who started life as a rural villager and ended it a president.”
Jenn writes about it from a young person’s perspective, too young to understand apartheid or to have really witnessed it, even from afar.Yet Mandela still touched her as he has touched so many other people.
Jenn says the best way to honor Mandela is to carry on his struggle for social change.
