Advocate: George Takei Documentary to Premiere at Sundance 2014

To Be TakeiGeorge Takei is an actor, activist, perfumer and, now, soon-to-be the centerpiece of a new documentary.

Now, my question is this: how did Takei find the time to film a documentary on top of all his acting stints, social media activities and championing of human rights? The man is literally more enterprising than his  Starship .

The documentary titled To Be Takei will premiere at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. It chronicles Takei’s experience in a World War II internment camp as a child, his rise to playing the beloved Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek and his recent evolution into an Internet celebrity and LGBT rights activist. The film was directed by Jennifer Kroot.

For more about Takei’s many different enterprises, read the article in the  Advocate.
