Utah Governor Gary Herbert has sworn in Sean Reyes to be Utah’s State Attorney General, reports the Inquirer.
The Filipino American was appointed to finish the term of John Swallow who resigned.
Reyes was raised in Southern California and graduated from UC Berkeley.
The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) praised the appointment.
“As Filipino-Americans, we are elated that one of our own has gained the distinction and honor of serving as Utah’s top law enforcement officer,” Ed Navarra said.
