The hair of a Sikh woman who hasn’t cut it since birth got caught in the engine of a go kart while racing at an amusement park near Chicago last year, reports the Chicago Sun Times.
That woman Holly Hanjra is now suing Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix saying worker ignored her pleas not to cut her hair at least until emergency workers arrived.
“Melrose caused Holly severe emotional distress because in cutting her hair, they destroyed one of her symbols of to devotion to her religious faith,” according to the suit.
Hanrja is asking for $50,000 in damages.
