Indian superstar Priyanka Chopra is still looking to make a breakthrough into the crowded Hollywood market.
The Wall Street Journal reports that despite signing with CAA, singing and appearing in the opening of Thursday Night Football and coming out with a single with Pitbull, the former Miss World has fallen short of celebrity status in the US.
Chopra’s hoping her latest venture will make her a common household name in the United States. She is now the new Guess girl, joining a long line of blond bombshells to be given the honor.
“The fact that I’m the face of Guess, after all the Guess girls have been blond bombshells, just goes to show that the girl next door is ethnically ambiguous,” said Chopra. “She doesn’t have to look a certain way.”
Paper magazine once called her the “biggest star you’ve never heard of.”
Perhaps her new role on Guess will be the big break she needs to change that.
