Chicago Tribune: Missing Indian American student found dead

Pravin VarugheseThe body of a Southern Illinois University student has been found in a wooded area of Morton Grove, reports the Chicago Tribune

The family of Pravin Varughese had offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

Police say he appeared to have gotten into an argument while being driven home from a party.

He left the vehicle on his own and wandered into the wooded area where police believe the cold weather may have contributed to his death.

“He was just one of those people you couldn’t be upset around,” said Dakota Reynolds, 22, a former SIU student who lived next to Varughese last year. “The whole story doesn’t seem real to me. It’s not like Pravin to do something like that.”

You can read more about his death in the Chicago Tribune and in the clip from the news conference below announcing his death.
