A Sikh American has won the right to wear his turban while taking his driver’s license photo, reports Punjab News.
Dalwinder Singh Dhoot of the North American Punjabi Association says the victory was especially satisfying because Minnesota’s Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services has apologized.
Narinder Singh of Blaine, Minnesota challenged the DVS policy and won the support of the South Asian Legal Defense and Education Fund as well as NAPA.
