Robert Lopez, fresh off his Oscar win last night with his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, remembered his Filipino roots, reports Interaksyon.
The Filipino American songwriter won for Best Original Song for Let It Go from the Disney hit, Frozen.
The win gave him an EGOT– the rare combination of having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
“Filipino pride. I’m so excited. I’m just sending love to the Philippines,” said Lopez. “I know they’ve had a tough year and I just send out my feelings to them.”
Lopez revealed he and his wife will do a benefit concert for victims of Typhoon Haiyan on March 12 in New York.
Wife Kristen and the couple’s children presented Robert with a special gift to commemorate his EGOT. You can read about that in Interaksyon.
