Rehabilitation planned of historic Chinese Landmark

Bing Kong Tong Building, IsletonCeremonies were held today to celebrate the planned rehabilitation of a Chinese landmark in the Sacramento Delta (Photo by EEKim).

The Bing Kong Tong building in Isleton, California was a gathering point for immigrant farm workers and also a Chinese language school, according to the Sacramento Bee.

“The restoration of the Bing Kong Tong building is an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to highlight and preserve for future generations the historical, cultural and architectural contributions of early Chinese settlers,” said Sacramento County Supervisor Don Nottoli.
