  1. RE: 21 things people should never say to an Asian American: Actual comments I’ve unfortunately heard:
-I bet YOU know where ALL the best Asian restaurants are.
-Why aren’t you good in Math? You should be. (the first time I heard this comment was from a high school math teacher)
-You look just like that girl in Grays Anatomy. You know who I’m talking about, right? (must be my scrubs since I work in health care. right)
    -Why is your hair curly?
-Were your parents an arranged marriage?
-You don’t eat raw fish? You’re weird!
-You’re Asian, you shouldn’t have freckles!
-Do you take off your shoes at home?
-Are you (or my mom) a “Tiger Mom?”

    • RE” 21 things you should never say to an Asian American: Nailed it! Better than the video IMO. At least I personally have had your list asked of me.

  2. RE:21 things you should never say to an Asian American: Occasionally, a strange stranger will ask me, “Do you know Kung-Fu?”

I stare at them, answer them quietly, “YES”. And keep on staring……..
