KTNV is reporting a high school teacher in Las Vegas reprimanded a Muslim American student with an injured leg for not standing for the Pledge of Allegiance.
The student says other students were also sitting, but the teacher singled him out.
“His words to me, verbatim were, ‘My teacher told me that this is America, and if you can’t stand for the Pledge of Allegiance in my class, you can go back to Iraq.’” said the father who asked not to be identified.
The father took his complaint to the principal and, according to the father, was told the teacher would be disciplined.
