SF Supe David Chiu says Raymond Shrimp Boy Chow threatened him

David ChiuABC7 reports that police once put San Francisco  Supervisor  David Chiu under police protection from convicted mobster Raymond Shrimp Boy Chow.

Chiu is the first Asian American ever to serve as board president. He’s always been skeptical of Chow’s claim that he was a reformed man after serving time on racketeering charges.

When he heard Chow had gained control of the Chinatown Night Market, Chiu called on then Mayor Gavin Newsom to pull the city funding for the market.

Chow took out an ad in a Chinese newspaper comparing Chiu to a “corpse eating a vegetable dinner.”

“Yes, Raymond Chow did publicly attack me, he personally threatened me, he came after me and the police thought it was important, for a period of time, to provide police protection,” said Chiu.

The protection lasted six months.

Chow is under arrest on money laundering charges and is considered a central figure in the corruption probe of State Senator Leland Yee.

Another key figure in the case, former SF School Board President Keith Jackson, is accused in a murder for hire scheme.

You can hear what his attorney is saying about the charge in the clip below from ABC7 news.
