CSN Philly: Chinatown bar’s joke about domestic violence backfires

Bar-LyThis goes in the what were they thinking category.

A bar which seems to make a living using politically incorrect jokes in their advertising paid the price in Philadelphia’s Chinatown.

Yet, it was an employee who paid the ultimate price, according to CSN Philly.

The staffer wrote on in chalk on the billboard outside the bar, “I like my beer like I like my violence… domestic.”

Someone tweeted a picture of the sign to the local NBC affiliate and that’s when the proverbial sh*t hit the fan.

Lisa Schultz also sent angry tweets to the bar and her followers.

The bar received angry calls and promptly took the sign down. The employee was fired.

This wasn’t the first time Bar-ly has posted a politically incorrect sign.

Another one read “My guardian angel is an alcoholic.”

You can read reaction to the controversy and the bar’s response on CSN Philly.
