Policy Mic: Will the day come when racial distinctions fade away?

posted by Randall

HAPAThe number of people who consider themselves multi-racial spiked to nearly 9 million people in 2010. That’s an increase of 32 percent from a decade earlier, reports Policy Mic (Photo by Keoni Cabral).

National Geographic generated a lot of buzz a few months ago with its cover story on what the average American will look like in 2050.

26% of Hispanics and 28% of Asians right now marry outside their own race. So do 17% of blacks and 9% of whites.

This is likely to grow as surveys show those under 30 are more open to interracial marriages.

So what does the future hold? You can read more about that in Policy Mic .
