American Bazaar: Family of Indian American killed on obstacle course sues

Tough MudderOrganizers of the Tough Mudder competition build it as a team building exercise.

But the family of 28 year-old Avishek Sengupta blames Tough Mudder for the death of their son, reports the American Bazaar.

The 10 to 12 mile course in West Virginia puts competitors in a race through mud, water and soil.

Sengupta jumped into a pool of mud, but somebody jumped on top of him and he struggled to surface.

A lawsuit filed by his family contends the muddied waters violated state regulations, that lanes should have been clearly marked off and that the diver on duty made only a half hearted attempt to get to their son.

The lawsuit says it took 11 minutes to pull him from the pool.
