UCLA students went on a field trip to see President Barack Obama.
It helps that your teacher used to work in the Obama administration and also happens to be a well known actor–Kal Penn.
Penn graduated from UCLA in 2000 and was asked to return to teach a course titled “Hope, Change, and Fist Bumps: Young Americans and The Obama Presidency.”
Earlier this week, the students were taken on the tarmac to greet the President at LAX as he got off Air Force One.
“Coming into the class I expected it to be a learning experience,” first year political science major Jazmin Samano said. “But now I’ll have an experience to remember for the rest of my life.”
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I can’t believe I was able to see Air Force One land, let alone meet the president,” Maggie Sharpe said. “I’m in shock.”
The President joked with the students asking them if Penn was teaching them anything and took a group picture with them.
