A group of Korean Americans took out a full page ad in the New York Times criticizing South Korea’s failed ferry rescue effort, reports the Korea Herald.
The ad titled “bring the truth to light” said “not one was rescued” because of “incompetence and negligence” by the Park Geun-hye South Korean government.
Organizers out of Korea raised $160,000 from 4,000 people for the ad through an online fundraising campaign. The ad is expected to run in publications throughout the United States.
Not all Korean Americans agreed with the ad and the head of the Federation of Korean Associations in U.S. said she would release a statement soon rebutting the ad.
