The Boston Business Times reports ground has been broken on a 60,000 square feet $26.6 million affordable housing project in Boston’s Chinatown.

The project from the Chinese Economic Development Council, Inc. (CEDC) will add 67 rental apartments to the neighborhood.

“I’m proud that the City of Boston’s commitment to this project will create 67 units of affordable rental housing for working people in Chinatown,” Mayor Martin J. Walsh said. “The construction of Oxford Ping On will rebuild and preserve an important portion of Boston’s Chinatown community. We are proud to partner with an exemplary team of builders and designers.”
