A statue and storyboard honoring the heritage of Japanese Americans will be added to the Heritage Walk in Clovis, near Fresno, reports the Fresno Bee.
The Heritage Walk features the diversity of the Clovis Community. The new storyboard will focus on the contributions of Japanese American to the community. The statue will be a replica of a photograph taken of Fumio “Ike” Ikeda in 2003. It is being sponsored by the Clovis Japanese American Citizens League.
Ikeda moved to Clovis when he was just 1-years old. He served in the Military Intelligence Division during WWII.
