An 8-year old who survived a rare bone marrow disease and his family hope to give back everything the community gave to him to help save his life.
ABC7/KGO reports the family of Dillon Low is hoping to collect donations of at least six gallons of blood at a blood drive they are sponsoring in San Francisco this weekend.
Six gallons of blood is exactly what Dillon received over the 80 blood transfusions that kept him alive.
“When Dillon, as weeks went on when he needed blood he would go pale and very irritable,” his mother Carol said. “Just his overall being would decrease by then. So, the blood is very vital.”
You can find out more about Dillon’s story and the family’s efforts to give back in the clip below from ABC7/KGO.
