George Takei waved to tens of thousands of people as grand marshal of Seattle’s Pride Parade, reports Northwest Cable News.
His husband Brad Altman rode in the car with him.
“Well 40 years ago, what seemed unimaginable, today is reality,” said Takei. “We look forward to the day – I think this decade – when we will indeed have the United States of America.”
State Supreme Court justice and lesbian Mary Yu also participated in the parade.
“It means stability, it means recognizing love and relationships and recognizing how important families are.”
This was the 40th Pride Parade in Seattle.
