Ralphie Aversa of PLJ recently talked to Apl.De.Ap of the Black Eye Peas about his efforts to rebuild the Philippine after the destruction of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
“It was very devastating because I had some friends and family who are from there. I got to visit three weeks after the devastation so I got to see people actually digging for their family and setting up tents and just gathering all their belongings and putting it back together so its so unreal I never seen anything like that.”
It’s been a while since Apl.de.ap has performed with Taboo and will.i.am, but the three performed for a benefit for typhoon relief in Los Angeles earlier this month.
“It’s like muscle memory. We can pull it out,” he said.
You can hear more about Apl’s efforts for typhoon relief and plans for another album with the Black Eye Peas and his independent collaboration with other Asian artists in the clips below.
