The Washington Post is reporting that the Virginia GOP Treasurer has offered to resign following an offensive Facebook post about Muslim Americans.
Treasurer Bob FitzSimmonds ridiculed President Obama’s remarks praising the Muslim American community for helping to build “the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.”
Two sources described as high ranking Virginia Republican officials told the Post FitzSimmonds made the offer to resign, but FitzSimmonds himself is denying making the offer.
