Eater LA: ‘Plate by Plate’ Raises Awareness for Asian American Mental Health

CATEGORIES

Petersen Automotive MuseumAsian American volunteer organization Project by Project held its annual food and wine tasting benefit ‘Plate by Plate’ Saturday at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, reports Eater LA.

Combining food with philanthropy, Plate by Plate brought in over 50 restaurants and beverage purveyors from which visitors could choose to eat or drink. This year’s host of participating eateries was curated by Asian American food blogger Kevin Hsu.

The lineup featured a mix of veterans and newcomers to the Southern California culinary scene, including Alimento, Republique, and Q Sushi.

Each year, Project by Project selects a different issue affecting the Asian American community to champion. The theme for this year’s benefit was mental health, with proceeds from Plate by Plate benefiting Pacific Asian Counseling Services, a non-profit providing mental health and social services to members of Asian communities in the Los Angeles area.
