First Asian American President of NY State Bar Association is Historic

Glenn Lau-Kee The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) recently elected Glenn Lau-Kee its first Asian American president. He now presides over the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation.  The New York County Law Association (NYCLA) and the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) held a reception in his honor.

Kee will serve a one year term as the 117th president and plans on visiting all 15 law schools in New York.

“Law schools and practicing attorneys need to engage each other for the well-being and development of both students and the profession,” Kee said.

Kee was raised in New York City Chinatown and is a partner of the New York City law firm, Kee & Lau-Kee since 1977. His father Norman Kee began the law firm in 1956.

Kee served as president of the Asian American Bar Association of New York from 1997-1999 and is still a member of countless committees and boards.
