Mayweather: Let’s Make Manny Pacquiao Fight Happen

Manny Pacquiao  Floyd Mayweather gave the biggest signal yet that he’s willing to fight Manny Pacquiao.

With sweat still beading on his brow minutes after he defeated Marcos Maidana to remain undefeated, Mayweather said “I got to go back and talk to my team, I’m not ducking or dodging no opponent,” Mayweather said from the ring. “If a Pacquiao fight presents itself, let’s make it happen,” reports  The Telegraph.

Mayweather’s next fight is expected to come in May. Boxing promoter Bob Arum said the pair could fight twice in 2015 after HBO and Showtime reached an agreement to split the fights.

“Both networks want this to happen,” says Arum.  “All signs seem to point to a first fight early next year. A second fight in the autumn would provide a different cash split because the winner of the first would claim the higher percentage. As each of them believes he would win, that provides an extra incentive.”

Mayweather however threw up the yellow light over any excitement about a pending bout.

“I don’t think about Pacquiao, I don’t even know him. I wish him the best but that’s not my focus. My focus is Floyd Mayweather that is how I got to where I got to.

“I try not to focus on anyone else’s business. If it happens it happens. You guys can keep asking the same questions over-and-over and I will give you the same answers.

“That’s not my focus. My business model is I am my own boss. I call my own shots.”
