SBS: Asian American Cuisine Goes International

Roy Choi  From ramen burgers to bulgogi and kimchi tacos, Asian American food crafted by such famed chefs as Roy Choi (pictured) and David Chang have satisfied American taste buds for at least 10 years.

Now SBS reports, these Asian American food offerings have hit the shores of Australia.

Chang’s Momofoku Group opened Momofoku Seiobo in Sydney in late 2011. Now pork buns, sticky lamb ribs and Asian American-styled fried chicken have become a nice diversion from traditional stables of some Australian diets.

These foods were crafted by second generation Asian Americans who combined local ingredients and spices and sauces from Asia to bring a twist to American foods.

You can find recipes for an Asian style bloody mary and buttermilk pancake with fresh coconut and kaffir lime maple syrup in SBS.
