Leader-Telegram: First Asian American to Win Pulitzer Speaks Out on Human Trafficking

Sheryl WuDunnPulitzer Prize winning reporter Sheryl WuDunn spoke to a sold out crowd at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Thursday, reports the Leader-Telegram.

WuDunn along with her husband Nicholas D. Kristof won the coveted prize for their coverage of the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

She spoke about some of the topics covered in her best seller, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide.

“We think there is a central moral challenge of our time,” WuDunn said. “It’s the brutality that so many people face in our time because of their gender.” She told an attentive audience there are ten times more women trafficked now than the peak of slavery.

She also talked about her latest book A Path Appears.

You can read about that in the Leader-Telegram.
