Evan Jackson Leong who directed the film Linsanity is teaming up with Lucy Liu for his next film, reports Deadline.
Snakehead is the story of a Chinese immigrant played by Liu who is lured into the world of human smuggling by powerful crime bosses called Snakeheads. The film involves a number of Asian Americans. The script is written by Leong and the film is produced by 408’s Brian Yang and Gregory Chou.
“I was drawn to this story and character not only because it ties into my history as a Chinese American but also as a New Yorker,” said Liu about the story which takes place in New York’s Chinatown.
